Cross Country Skiing

Jefferson County Park

The Jefferson County Wellness Action Coalition hosted a Cross County Ski Event on Saturday February 27, 2010.  25 skiers met at 2 PM, at the parking lot of Jefferson County Park. First time skiers were able to participate in a learn-to clinic that was taught by Ken Daley, Executive Director of JeffCoWAC. Sam James, a highly experienced skier, led more experienced skiers on a great winter adventure through Jefferson County Park, a great setting for the day as the undulating hills and trails make for a variety of challenges for skiers of all ability levels. Most attendees where from were from Jefferson County but, out-of-towners hailed from Wapello and Polk counties.  Everyone from beginners to experts reported having a great time.
